31/5/2016: doctor's appointment

Coughed and spit up at night. Had to move up to the bed to sleep. Did not nurse much after that and slept well until 6 then had to poop. 

Very short nap in the morning. Went to wuan Ngon for lunch then doctor. Doctor prescribed antibiotics but mommy refused. Had to get runny nose out. Cried a lot. Still no improvement

Fell asleep on the way back. Had another 3 naps! Seems like he was tired and sleepy.

Fell asleep on his own in the evening at 9 after toss and turn for awhile.

New developments:

Copies gestures in picture books like stick tongue out, tummy ache

Got jealous/scared and tried to call for attention when mom and dad pretended to be sleeping

Understands a lot

Points and wants things

Can stand and walk for a few seconds

Plays on his own

At the mirror and knows it's himself. Asked mom to stick tongue out so he can touch and play and laugh.

30/5/2016: coughed a lot, little naps

Woke up late at 7:30. It's been awhile since he gets up so late. Before he used to sleep till 8, 9AM. Nowadays he gets up at 6, sometimes even 5.

Coughed a lot throughout the night. Behaved during the day. Did not nap or nurse much. Mom went for an interview at noon. Stayed up for 6 hours, fell asleep the moment we moved down to 12B but only for 45'. Woke up to play for almost 2 hours. Ms Tuong had to rock Boom to sleep.

Did not go out for the last 3 days. Only went downstairs for a few times today to hang out in the lobby, collect delivery and to the convenient store. No poop.

29/5/2016: worst night ever

Slept well the first few hours. After that was fussy and crying all night. High fever. Mom and dad had to carry and nurse for hours, would doze off for an hour at each time. Had to give medicine and wipe body. Even pooped without anyone knowing. Woke up at 7:15. 

Was better but did not like bath and wanted to be carried all the time. Did not nurse or drink from bottle. 

Finally took noon nap. Cried now and then but fell back as sleep and nursed. End up sleeping for 4 hours. 

Went to bed late at past 10.

28/5/2016: first day of summer holiday, fever

Had a fever in the middle of the night. Woke up at 4, luckily fell back asleep after 1 hour.

Was better during the day but quite tired and sleepy. Did not go out at all. 

27/5/2016: 27th school day, last day of school year

Woke up at 4AM, took 2 hours to get back to sleep. 

School had a graduation and 1/6 party in the morning so mom joined Boom. Boom cried a bit when teacher carried, but fell asleep in teacher's arms while watching the show although it was very noisy and hot. Probably tired from lack of sleep. Boom received a gift package from school: books, uniform, crackers.

Was happy and behaved well in the evening at home. 

26/5/2016: 26th school day, runny nose and cough, long noon nap

Slept until 7:15AM. Still nursed a lot at night. Pooped.

Had runny nose and cough in the morning. Luckily got better thrughout the day.

Did not drink milk in the morning at school or take nap. Took a very long noon nap until 3, Aura had to wake him up.

Always look at mommy and smiled sneakily to attack mom's breast, pulling shirt down to nurse as if water fountain

Facetime with grandparents on both sides. Mrs Hang and Mr Minh in Canada and Cuba.

Blew bubbles on mommy's tummy and laughed. Babled mama papa all day long. 

Fell asleep after nursing and tossing around for awhile.

Since 1 month:

- skip afternoon nap, sometimes skip morning nap

- can stay awake for 5-6 hours whereas before would nap every 2 hours

- sometimes fall asleep on his own. Falls asleep on his own at school 

- still nursed a lot at night 

- actively nurse when seeing mommy instead of only when asleep 

- plays happily

- looks like a big boy, especially when sleeping 

25/5/2016: 25th day at school, gigantic poop

Still nursed a lot at night. Woke up 6:30. Gigantic poop.

Behaves well. Drank a bit more milk than yesterday.

Played downstairs for awhile after school. No evening walk today because daddy is sick. Mom made steak, garlic bread, sashimi. Ms Chi gave melon. Boom ate well.

Struggled for 1 hour nursing and playing and fell aslee at 8:30.

Nowadays automatic poop early morning upon waking up. No more night pooping for the past few months.

Gets fussy and reaches out for food whenever he sees anyone eating outside

Can stand for a few seconds

Nurse too much at night due to cosleeping

Touches his pennis when bathing: ấn, văn vê

Avoids sleeping while adults crave sleep

23/5/2016: 23rd school day, woke up too early, refused the bottle

Still nursed a lot at night. Woke up too early at 5 to poop. Played and had to take another nap

Before going to school. Late for breakfast.

Back to school after almost 1 week sick. Cried a bit. Did not drink any milk at school. Has been refusing milk at school this past 2 weeks. 

Spit up a bit at dinner. 

Went for a walk with parents.

Went to bed late at 8:30 at home. daddy had to rock to sleep. 

24/5/2016: 24th day at school, cow milk

Kept rolling over into siting position. Mom had to nurse to fall back asleep.

Woke up early at 6. Went to school on time for bf. Mom and dad played tennis and badminton early morning.

Did not drink much breastmilk. Drank cow's milk from a classmate and liked it.

Had English lesson today. Ms Tuong picked up. Was very happy at home. Up for 6.5 hours, too sleepy. Nursed and fell asleep.

Previous sick period: 2 weeks, record long. Runny nose, spit up, fever, cough

Avoids going to sleep in the evening. Tries to hide or run away. Cries and run to mommy, mumbling complaints ahen daddy tried to rock him to sleep.

Past month mommy not leaking at all. A lot more comfortable.

22/5/2016: election, pizza 4p's, poop, late bedtime

Kept rolling over into sitting position and waking up so mom had to keep nursing throughout the night. 

Went for election and pizza 4p's with parents

Napped until 4. Had big hard sticky poop (result of 2 days)

Went out to play happily

Went to bed late

This past month he goes to bed early around 8 and skips afternoon catnap

21/5/2016: felt better, no poop

Felt better. Still runny nose and some coughing. No poop today. Started drinking more water. 

Saturday so parents stayed at home. Played well. Fell asleep on his own for noon and evening nap with some nursing and patting.

Only went to the lobby and for a walk, did not play in the playground becoz it's hot

20/5/2016: 4th sick day, cough

Slept well at night but coughed a lot. Maybe because of eating ice cream for dinner. Nursed a few times.

Coughed throughout the day so had to stay at home. Overall, stayed at home 4 out of 5 school days. 

Mom went to Ciputra for an interview.

Was better today except the coughing. Napped well. Fell asleep on his own for noon and evening nap. However rolls around a lot before sleeping so mom had to chase after him to prevent from falling. Hit his head on the floor. Cried a bit and mumble to complain. 

Daddy still fighting with Royal Coty about the elevator noise

19/5/2016: 3rd sick day

Cried again at 12:30, daddy had to comfort. Only nursed at 12:30 and 4:30, woke up at 6:30 to poop. 

Stayed at home today. Seemed better. Mom had to go meet Uber friend for lunch and visit Voi Mo at the hospital. Thuy Duong just gave birth today. 

Since he got sick he wants to be carried more. Doesn't drink much water. 

Went to bed at 8:15 after nursing. 

In the morning would but the strap of school bag around his neck to go to school. Maybe he is used to going to school or actually enjoys it now? 3rd sick day in a row. This month has taken 4 sick days. Keeps saying "Aura"

18/5/2016: terrible night, better day

Mom had to carry Boom in rocking chair until 3am. Finally nursed and was able to put down.

Was better today but still fussy. Went to the doctor but said it was just weather allergy, nothing serious. 

Went to bed at 7:15 but wake up because of daddy's phone. Did not sleep until 10:30. Cried a lot. 

17/5/2016: worst sick day

Was fussy at night but OK. Got a fever in the morning. Got worse. Fussy all day and night. Had to be carried to sleep, cannot put down. Fuss and had to stand up rocking every 30'. Got better after ibuprofen. Did not nurse or eat much all day. Did not pee much but had 3 poops. Very tired.

16/5/2016: 22nd day at school, waved goodbye, did not cry

Grandparents in Toronto visiting My now. Today they went to Niagra falls.

Boom still nursed multiple times at night. 

Woke up at 6:30 and had big poop. When cleaning ass, poop got all on his back and shirt. Big mess.

Went to school and saw gf, waved goodbye to daddy and did not cry.

Had a good day at school. Pooped a lot.

Went home, had dinner, took bath, short walk, played for awhile then had to comfort to sleep. Went to bed at 7:30

15/5/2016: felt better, short naps, Moo beefsteak

Nursed a lot throughout the night. Woke up very early at 5:45. Took a nap again at 7:30.

Took a 1.5 hour noon nap only.

Runny nose seemed better. Went downstairs in the morning and afternoon. Enjoyed dinner at Moo beefsteak with parents. Was too sleepy and fell asleep on the way back but woke up upon return home. Took 1.5hrs to fall back asleep. Total sleep low.

Have been cutting afternoon catnap for 2.5 weeks, unless he wakes up very early from noon nap then enen afternoon nap. As a result goes to bed earlier around 8pm much better than before when he goes to bed at 10. Total sleep varies, but about the same

14/5/2016: night waking, early bedtime, tantrums

Woke up at 3AM, took an hour to fall back asleep by himself. Woke up at 5:45 to poop again. Cried a lot, maybe he had stomache pain? 

Took a 2 hour morning nap. Prob due to little night sleep. Very short noon nap. Went downstairs to play morning and afternoon. Nursed and fell asleep at 7:15.

Woke up at 11 and cried. Mommy had to comfort back to sleep. Would not nurse.

Hits hands and legs and cries when he wants something. Because he cannot express it any other way.

13/5/2016: 22nd school day, waved bye, runny nose, early bedtime

A lot of running nose but decided to go to school anyway. Played very happily by himself after waking up. Mom also a bit sick. Ms Tuong brought Boom to school and back. Boom did not cry during drop off, even waved to Ms Tuong. Mom had an interview and went to TQT for awhile.

Teacher said Boom did not eat much, especially did not drink milk. Was hungry on the way home.

Had early dinner, took bath, went downstairs to play and daddy comforted to sleep at 7:15. Was awake for 6 hours. During play he would sometimes sit and cried but mom did not know he was sleepy. He still could not get to sleep by himself or by nursing.

Has many self expressions. Throws tantrums when unsatisfied. Laughs and talks all the time. Very active. Can stand a few seconds.

Past month:

- gets up very early at 6 and pooped right away

- mom not engored or leaked 

12/5/2016: 21st school day, mother's day celebration

Daddy sick today. Boom still sick. Mom sent email and called for Boom to stay at home. But after waking up early and played and then taking a short morning nap, waking at 8, Boom seemed well so brought Boom to school. 

Had a good day at school. Even had Mother's day tea at school.

In the evening mom had to bring dad to the doctor. Boom went to bed late, Ms Tuong had to rock Boom to sleep at 9:30

11/5/2016: 7th sick day, stayed home

Was hot during the night. Nursed a few times but not too bad. Woke up really early to poop at 5:40 but was fussy so Ms Tuong rocked back to sleep for 1 hour. Played happily at home.

Daddy went to play golf. 

recent month:

- started playing with toys instead of chewing paper and plastic

- shows emotion

- throws balls and things and have fun

- looks for things underneath the bed

- pulls toys out of basket

- play each toy for a few minutes

- finds ways to entertain himself, never bored

- shows emotion. Gets frustrated if things not the way he wants

- loves pressing buttons of remore control, light switch, elevator

- hides when it's bed time

- hates the salone drop

- laughs and ignores pretend that he didn't poop. Embarrassed 

10/5/2016: 20th school day, sick at school, no cries

First time he did not cry during drop off.

Was fine during the morning but did not eat much. Got a fever in the afternoon. Parents had to pick up early. 

These days mom has been job searching.

Went home to play, bathe, go for a walk. Probably tired and sleepy so nursed and fell asleep easily at 8. 

9/5/2016: 19th school day

Daddy took Boom to school late. Daddy worried Boom might not be happy at school because he's so quiet on the way to and from school. Mom feels guilty and self doubt. Also not happy about teacher not changing diaper often and keeping the classroom so hot. Daddy picked Boom up from school.

Boom skipped afternoon nap. Should have gone to bed earlier but let Boom toss and turn and nursed to sleep so did not sleep until 8. 

Ran chan gave Boom

Some frozen breastmilk in case mommy cannot produce enough

8/5/2016: sunday, play ball, haircut, bath tube

Sunday at home. Still had runny nose. Did not nap much in the morning and noon. Made up for it by a long afternoon nap. In the evening Ms Tuong comforted to sleep so went to sleep early at 8:30. 

Daddy gave Boom a haircut and swim

In the bath tube. Dis not go anywhere.

In the morning mom went to play badminton. Boom went for a walk and saw his gf Aura from the same blg. She lives in 818

Boom sat still for haircut.

7/5/2016: sick Saturday

3rd time Boom has runny nose since birth. This time not as bad, still active and happy. 3rd day sick. Today is Saturday so stayed at home. Played downstairs a few times. Took 2 baths. Not afraid of saline drop as before. But only used hut mui once because he hates it.

Mr Cuong came over to exchange playard and bring home the scale. Went to bed late at 9.

6/4/2016: 18th school day, catnap at school, few accidents, runny nose

Woke up early. Went downstairs to play while mom and dad played tennjs and badminton.

Good day at school. Big poop upon arrival. 2 classmates' birthday. Boom fell asleep for afternoon catnap so Ms Tuong has to wait at school. Daddy came over to pick up. Girlfriend classmate who lives in same blg 0818 likes Boom and follows him everywhere, touching when he naps.

Got into a few accidents at home: finger stuck in cabinet, underneath door, head hit daddy's bone ankle. Cried a lot.

Went to bed at 9. Hurt and runny nose, had to be comforted and nursed 2 times back to sleep.

Can find things underneath blanket

Open and close cabinet: do it over and over again

Explore every corner, look underneath bed

Throw things and look at longingly, yell to pick up things for him

5/5/2016: early rise, early to bed. 17th school day

Woke up early, big poop. Went to school early. Still multiple poops at school. Mom worried about Boom not drinking so much milk and teacher not changing diaper often at school.

Mom spent time playing badminton, editing CV, applying for some jobs, visit Finn at Vinmec (born 2 days ago) and lunch with Saori Japanese friend at Ky Y.

Had English lesson today so got home late. Had dinner of avocado and bath and went to bed. Too fussy for evenjng walk. Toss and turn and nursed for 1 hour before falling asleep. Mom is training Boom to fall asleep without rocking.

4/5/2016: constant night nursing, back to school, still pooping

These days mom is always nursing Boom, especially at night. So tired.

Boom slept well until 7:30, woke up and had a big poop. Took a shower, had some breakfast then daddy took Boom to school.

Was pooping a lot still (small poops). Behaved at achool. Mom went to the hairdresser so Ms Tuong picked Boom up. Took a nap at home, went grocery shopping with momm and Ms Tuong.

Had dinner, loves ice cream, took a bath, went for a walk. Toss and turn and play fownstairs at 12B for a long time before falling asleep. Was supposed to sleep at 8:30 but ended up delayinf until 10. 

Could have slept earlier if rocked but mom wanted Boom to learn to sleep on his own so took longer.

Always tried to hide and avoid when he knows he has to sleep. Always toss and turn and move around like a sleep walker.

3/5/2016: multiple poop, last day of holiday

Nursed every 1.5 hour throughout the night. Stayed at home today becaus it is still holiday. Pooped small wet poops many times a day: 5. Maybe because he is teething? Already had 6 teeth and 2 bottom ones coming out. Seemed more active and happy today. No more fever.

These past few months he only usually poops 1-2/day

Cried a bit at night before nursing and fell asleep. Woke up and hour later and had to nurse again.

2/5/2016: worse sick day ever

Boom got sick in the middle of the night. Vomitted all the milk he just nursed over the bed. Then mom cleaned up and nursed again and once again he cried and vomitted. Daddy wanted to go play golf even when Boom was sick so mom was really mad, had a big fight. Boom cried. However he was sleepy the whole time.

Finally settled for some more sleep.

Don't know why he got sick. 3 possibiliies:

- played roughhouse with daddy in the evening

- drank bottle juice from daddy

- caught some virus from Hoa Binh?

Although he did not eat much, still pooped 2-3 times these 2 days so maybe he has a stomach problem.

This is the worst time he got sick ever. In the past he only got a cold twice (in Jan and Mar, each with runny nose lasting 1 week) and a slight fever a few times. He never had any spit ups (only a few drops of milk). 

Had a fever and was fussy the whole day. Only played a bit and slept and nursed a lot. Daddy stayed home. Both mom and dad took care of Boom the whole day. During lunch kut had to take turns carrying Boom. Not his usual active self. Took a shower in the morning.

Ms Tuong came back. Family had Pho at home. Boom ate a bit. These past few days he almost ate nothing and only nursed. Seemed happier and more energized in the evening. Took another bath. 

Was sleepy but toss and turn like sleepwalking for 15', let out a poop explosion, after clean up finally fell asleep at 10:30. Maybe he was both sleepy and struggling with the poop? These past few days overwrote all the sleep improvement of the past 2 months due to travel and sickness.

Enjoys listening to music and knows how to move to the music and clapped his hands! Maybe he learned in school? 

March and April results

Mom has spent the whole of March Sleep training for Boom and the whole of April focusing on Boom adjusting to school.

March results:

- can sleep without boobs

- bedtime semi routine

- goes to bed earlier

Fails: still would not sleep in crib (only a few times), cannot fall asleep on his own

April results:

- adjusted to school, seems to have fun

- only cried a bit during drop off

- stopped crying during pick up

- eats well at school

- can sleep well

- falls asleep for noon nap on the bed with teacher patting on the back, no need to rock

- falls asleep easier at night at home

- can sometimes fall asleep on his own at home

- sometimes goes to bed earlier and skip evening catnap

1/5/2016: back to Hanoi, big fight

Mom and dad had a big fight so left Hoa Binh for Hanoi early. Ms Tuong still away. 

Boom pooped again in the afternoon. Mom gave Boom a bath. Brought Boom downstairs to the playground to play.

Boom almost fell asleep on his own serveral times from 8Pm but rose up and played again and did not sleep until 10:30pm.
