31/3/201: running nose, delay first day of school

Fussy all night. Turns out he had a running nose so had to delay first day of school and stay home.

Used the prescriptio from last time instead of going to the doctor. Took a long afternoon nap but went to bed late at 10. Did not go out the whole day. Weather wet humid. 

Hope Boom will get well soon.

29/3/2016: 2nd day at school, no giúp việc

2nd day at school. Boom still cried a lot but a bit improvement. Also cranky because he was too sleepy. Mom had to feed him a bottle. Enjoyed the gym. Fell asleep on the way home.

Had 2 good naps. 

Today Ms Tuong still away so family had lunch at Kfood and dinner Net Hue delivery. Daddy went to close the Tan Mai apartment sale so came back late. Sell the house for 1.725, much lower than 1.85 asking price. Gave Boom a bath in the tube, went to bed at 9:20. No evening walk. 

Mommy tired. Had to do housework and take care of Boom. 

30/3/2016: 3rd day at school

Usually takes 2-3 times of rocking to sleep in the evening but in return he slept earlier instead of letting him play for 1-2 hours after getting up

When daddy sleep, Boom climb up to daddy's face to try to play

Loves picking small things like leaves up to eat, always chewing something 

Quite concentrate picking food up during meal time

Nowadays goes to sleep earlier so gets up earlier. In the past he went to bed late and gets up at 8 or 9. The record is 11AM.

3rd day of nursery trial. Boom still cried but teacher managed to rock Boom to sleep so he was sleeping during gym time. Takes a lot of patience and heart wrenching to see Boom cry like this. Mommy already paid school fee, will officially start tomorrow but will increase time each day, hard to leave him for the whole day. These days mom only focus on helping Boom settle in school.

Ms Tuong back in the afternoon. Mom and Boom enjoyed time in thr playground. After bath, Boom took a long nap of 2.5 hours, woke up for dinnet, walk. Went to bed late at almost 10. 

27/3/2016: fussy day due to vaccination, parent's anniversary

Woke up at midnight and pooped. Fussy and had slight fever.

Woke up early morning and daddy had to comfort back to sleep.

Felt better and had a long noon nap. Mom and dad went to pizza 4P's for anniversary date but missed Boom. Mom sorted Boom's stuff to give to baby Mo and baby Finn. Daddy had a haircut and carwash. 

Went to bed early

28/3/2016: Boom's first day @ nursery, ms Tuong go home

Went to FFS to try out. Daddy drove and mom, grandma and Ms Tuong took Boom . Cried in class after 30' and mom had to pick up to comfort. However had fun at the gym when mommy was there. Went home

For a nap.

Ms Tuong went home for 1 day. Only mom and Boom and grandma so skipped bath today. Mom had to comfort Boom to sleep for evening nap. Pooped twice, once into mom's clothes.

Family went to Thai Express for dinner. Ran into mom's friend Thang Phuong. Boom bahaved quite well at dinner and impressed other guests.

Went to bed late. Did not have good total sleep.

26/3/2016: no ST, BC vaccination, light fever

Boom so playful nowadays, goes out to play for hours per day. Even went to see mua lan (opening of Gardenia showroom)

Napped on the way but did not drink much from bottle.

Went to Vabiotech for vaccination this morning because Vinmec doesn't have it. Took the whole morning. Place old, crowded but cheap. Boom was brave and did not cry. 

Had a good afternoon nap. 

Daddy and Ms Tuong couldn't put hkm down for afternoon catnap. Was very sleepy but cried whenever put down, only slept when held.

Went to bed early, had a slight fever, nursed a lot. Woke up when applied fever patch.

25/3/2016: retry ST#8, crib successful, mom away whole day, potty training

Boom nursed a couple of times at night, big improvement. Woke up late at 8. However these days he goes to bed earlier and gets up earlier than his late wakefime of 8-9am.

Ms Tuong tried to get him to sit in the potty for a few minutes for the first time and he pooped right away!

Mom away for the whole day for the first time because last day of class had to stay for lunch. Had to pump there. Luckily Boom behaved really well. Didn't even care when he saw mommy in the afternoon.

Put him to bed early but took an hour an multiples times before settling down at 9:30pm

24/3/2016: retry sleep training day 7 - can walk using walker

Took good naps but schedule messed up bcoz he woke up and took nap too early

Went to bed at 9 but woke up, took awhile for daddy to comfort back go sleep

Can walk around a bit using the walker liongrandparents gave

Likes crunchy fruits, his teeth makes biting noise

Can climb on things

Quite used to front facing stroller now

Jumps and laughs a lot. Always seems happy and enjoying

Mom had to warn Boom not to bite but still does not understand

Mom went back from training late, had to pump 3 times. Each day mom pumps 100ml more than Boom drinks

Boom hates sleeping, wants to play and enjoy every moment

Everyone mom talked to said it is good for babies to go to nursery early so mom felt better, hope Boom will be ok next week at school 

23/3/2016: retry sleep training day 6 - got kissed by a girl - 2 consecutive early bed days

Woke up early at 6:40

Had a good day at home. This is the 3rd day 

Mom played with Boom in the playground after returning from training. Got kissed by a girl and cried.

Boom went to bed at 8:30, woke up after 30' but daddy comforted and went to bed again after 30'

22/3/2016: midnight poop - retry sleep training day 5

Poop and yarn at midnight

Woke up at 8, had 3 short naps

Went to bed at 8:15PM and slept till morning

Drop things and make sounds and look at people to ask for help. Look from one person to another.

Look at things to express needs like water.

Ai cha ta da bapa...

Turns around or look up or crawl to wherever he hears a sound. Has to take part or observe every happening in the house.

21/3/2016: retry sleep training day 4 - mommy away for the first time

Still nursed a few times 

Mom was late for class because had to pump. Was prepared to stay the whole day and pump there,

Class was useful but based in a newly furnished kindergarten so had to sit in small chair for the whole day, uncomfortable. Dark room, poor projector, couldn't see. Toilet did not have paper or soap. So mom had to go home for lunch and pump.

Boom behavedvery well while mom was away. Followed Ms Tuong when he is with grandma. Took 2 good naps, did not drink much,

Had afternoon catnap with mom. Went for a walk.

Went to bed at 9:15 woke up after 1.5 hours and played and pooped. Mom and dad had an argument but Boom played happily by himself. Went to bed 12:30

Note:

Sweat a lot in the head

Enjoys his walk, sit in front stroller and curious about everything, lean forward, tried to get out, yelled out loud

Can eat a lot, even drink from a cup

Knows Ms Tuong is in the bathroom and bang the door from outside yelling

Always tries to bite mommy and it really hurts

Getting cuter every day

Quite popular in the downstairs lobby with the staff there

20/3/2016: 9 months, first hair cut

Nursed 4 times

No improvement, no sleep training today

Ms Tuong and grandma went to hospital so mom had to miss 1 education class to stay home with Boom

Took Boom downstairs and went for a walk. Fell asleep in the carrier, nursed in bed at home and continued sleeping. Had a good nap.

It is quite warm today

At noon family went downstairs for ramen and bought shoes for grandma. Boom

Had a good afternoon nap. 

Then daddy gave Boom a haircut (was difficult) because hos hair is getting long and sweats a lot. He looks so cute and different. Had a bath with daddy, a short nap, dinner, then went downstairs for evening walk.

Went to bed at 9 but woke up again after 45'

Daddy had to comfort twice and took 1 hour for him to get back to sleep

19/3/2016: no sleep training, start to nurse awake again

No sleep training today. Took late evening nap so went to bed late

Started to nurse awake for a few minutes recently but will be too active and would not sit still 

Mommy almost had plugged duct again

These past 2-3 weeks: takes 2-3 rounds of comforting before finally sleeping

This past week: poop only 1-2 times per day instead of 2-3 times but poop very smelly

18/3/2016: measle vaccination, retry day 5, fell asleep in stroller 3 times

Mom nursed to sleep for morning nap. Went for measle vaccination. Fell asleep on thr stroller walk back, nursed to continue sleep.

In the afternoon Mom went to FFS to register for Boom. Fel asleep again on stroller ride with grandma and Ms Tuong.

In the evening, fell asleep again on stroller evening walk, woke up again upon return, could not get back to sleep.

Had to play for 1.5 hours and daddy rocked to sleep a couple of times before realy settling

17/3/2016: mommy away, went to bed late - retry day 4

Mom went for a wedding and to buy some stuff for Boom

Boom was fussy the whole morning and nap very late. However managed a longer afternoon nap. Both naps with grandma.

Mom made a mistake of putting Boom to bed late so he went to bed really late. Took a few attempts

Should have just comfort him back to sleep whenever he wakes up

16/3/2016: retry sleep training day 3 - 1 successful nap, mommy sick, late bedtime

Managed to get Boom

To sleep in grandma's bed for 1 nap

Mommy feels tired and sick but better than yesterday

Took a long and late evening nap so went to bed late

Aida aicha whenever put him into carrier or if he doesn't like something

Silent poop: without grunting or facial expression, so parents did not find out right away

Poop less nowadays, usually fart the whole day before pooping

Fussy a bit until

He could poop

15/3/2016: retry sleep training day 2

Big improvement: only nursed twice last night

Set back: drink very little from the bottle these days

Would still only nurse while sleepy

Woke up early to poop

Seems cranky and fussy and always cries whenever he hears or sees mommy

Went to the supermarket

Boom only took very short naps. Luckily went to bed early. Nursed little. Took a nap with grandma in the morning without boobs.

Mom and Ms Tuong sick so grandma and daddy helped take care of Boom in the evening

Ms Thuy and Thu/y from WedinStyle came to visit and bought a cake

Toys babies prefer: tags, container, remote control, paper, plastic, key chain, diaper wipe box

14/3/2016: retry sleep training day 1 - slept without boobs twice

Nursed a few times at night but there has been an improvement. Managed to get him to use the pacifier once.

Today restart sleep training but take one step back: sleep together in the bed with an adult but without nursing. Not try the crib yet.

These days he has 3 meals a day and seem to drink less milk from the bottle and nurse less often during the day (every 3-4 hours).

Was able to sleep on grandma's bed twice today. 

Mom went to visit some potential sites for preschool

Adayroi did not deliver food on time so family went out for bbq at gogi house. Boom sat in the high schair to eat for awhile and then gets frustrated

Went to bed at 9:30 but took 4 times of comforting before finally settling

13/3/2016: back to Hanoi, pause sleep training

Woke up and play for 2 hours then family together with grandma left for Hanoi. Luckily he slept half of the way and played happily when waking up.

Mom and dad had a big fight in the afternoon. Mom went out for an hour. Daddy still not sorry or improve.

After evening walk, Boom went to sleep early at 9:30. These days it has been an improvement.

Did not nurse much today.

Note:

Abort the sleep training these past 2 days

Looks skinny

Can wear bibs and small clothes that did not fit before

Can hold on and move a bit "cruising"

When he doesn't like something would say "ayda"

12/3/2016: back to Hoa Binh, soiled the bed, ate little

Mom and dad had an argument because daddy refused to pack for Hoa Binh. Finally went to Hoa Binh to pick up grandma but had to stay overnight. Ms Tuong went home and was late because of daddy. Luckily Boom slept in the car the whole way.

Boom behaved and also took a long afternoon nap. Ate dinner, went for a walk but stayed up a long time (almost 5 hours until bedtime). Pooped and dirtied his clothes and the bed. Finally fell asleep.

Almost ate nothing today. Refused the bottle and nursed very little.

11/3/2016: day 10, failed day 4

Another failure day. Would not sleep in the crib. Nursed very few times. Almost went to bed early but woke up again and did not sleep until 10:30

Mommy had Mr Dat visit for dinner from

japan and brought mochi.

10/3/2016: training day 9, Boom fights back day 3

Boom fought and won again today. Could not put him down into the crib. Could not even get him to nap in the afternoon because he keeps dozing off then waking again.

Tried front facing stroller again (last time was at 6mo in Saigon, Tet and now. He keeps turning around to see if mom is there because he is used to face the adult.

Boom's regular playgroup in the lobby (with other housekeepers and babies, especially Beo) has been broken up because now they don't let housekeepers gather in the lobby. So Boom has no one to play with. Mom took Boom on evening walk because daddy came home late. Boom fell asleep in the stroller. Probably too sleepy from the whole day fighting. Did not even nurse when put on the bed. Nursed now and then for a bit about an hour later.

9/3/2016: training day 8, Boom fights back day 2

Woke up at midnight. Daddy tried to comfort back to sleep but cried very hard, mommy nursed but he was already hysterical and would not nurse. Mommy rocked back to sleep. Improvement: nursed only a few times.

Did not take morning nap. Woke up right away when put into crib. Also took very short noon nap due to poop. Nursed and drank from bottle very little.

2nd day backtrack of sleep training. Seems like Boom knows and is fighting back: would not sleep in crib, take very short naps, in the evening wake up right after putting down on the bed to nurse

Cold, empty expression whenever in the stroller but will start yelling when almost home. How does he know?

Took 3 rounds of rocking and almost 1 hour before can put Boom down to nurse to sleep at bedtime at 10.

8/3/2016: (sleep training day 7) women's day, record low sleep in history, cried a lot

Good news: went ro bed early and nurse less often

Bad news: woke up at 3:30 and took 1 hour to get back to sleep

Took 4 short naps throughout the say. Went to Japanese restaurant for lunch with mom and Ms Tuong and a walk in the mall with parents.

Was supposed to sleep at 8 but woke up shortly crying. Felt better after pooping (green poop due to green tea) so maybe he got tummy pain? After 2 hours of playing, although he was very sleepy but keep resisting mom and dad's comfort and cried loudly. Daddy had to let him cry for awhile 5' before he would nurse and fall asleep. Parents felt very bad. Boom's probably very hurt and frustrated but don't know how to stop crying.

Mom start sorting Boom's stuff to give away to Finn and Voi Mo.

7/3/2016: supermaket, short naps, walk in the mall

I'm Today Boom only took short naps. Went to the supermarket in the afternoon. Day was gloomy so did not go outside. Had baby Bong (Ms Ha) visit, house viewer and R5 customer service.

Mom also donated milk for a poor mother and baby.

Had a bath and enjoyed splashing water. 

Went for a walk in the mall with parents bcoz of the rain. Went to alleys in the mall that even mom never knoew of. Felt bad becoz most shops are closed or struggling.

Went to bed early probably because of lack

Of sleep during the day.

Good vision: can spot small things

Hand technique: can poke (electricity, goat beard), pick up small leaves

Get jealous when Ms Tuong holds other babies or other babies play with his toys

Can sit down after standing so less likely to fall

Your baby is probably exploring objects by shaking them, banging them, dropping them, and throwing them before falling back on the tried-and-true method of gumming them. The idea that you dosomething to an object is becoming clear, so an activity center with lots of things your baby can bang, poke, twist, squeeze, shake, drop, and open may be perfect now.  

This is the stage when babies are fascinated with toys that have specific functions, such as play phones. If your baby can't hold one up to his or her ear without help, lend a hand and pretend to have a conversation.

Your baby may like to see things fall down, get picked up (by you, of course), and then get thrown down again. This isn't intended to drive you mad. Your baby just finds the spectacle interesting and naturally wants to see it again and again.

6/3/2016: pingpong, evening walk

Regular Sunday at home with parents. Day 4 of crib training. Took less time to put him

In the crib (15' instead of hours) and he slept there for 1 hour.

Had 3 good solid naps. Went down to watch mom and dad play ping pong. Took a bath with daddy. Seemed to enjoy it. 

Went for a walk in the evening with parents after dinner as part of bedtime routine. 

Fell asleep at 8:30 but woke up immediately and did not fall asleep for real until 10pm.

Wrestle with daddy. One day will be stronger than daddy.

5/3/2016: fussy night, table tennis, sleep plan, sleepy drunken sailor

Was fussy all night, would nurse often but did not seem satisfied. Don't know if it was because of the sleep training.

Today was gloomy so Boom could not go outside.

Was able to get him to take a short morning nap in the crib. Slept with mommy during noon nap, nursed often and slept for 3 hours.

Went down to watch mom and dad play badminton. Took a late evening nap so went to bed late.

Mom came up with sleep training plan for Boom after rereading the no cry sleep book. However could not take a evening walk today.

Also Boom was fussy at bedtime, sleepy but would not nurse, roll around the bed like a drunk guy until finally settling.

4/3/2016: crib training day 3

Woke up early to poop and went downstairs to play. Fell asleep in the stroller and bottle fed 140ml but woke up when transfered to the crib. 

Another bottle and 2 more attemps before sleeping in the crib for 35'. Emptied 3-4 bottles today and can drink from any type of bottle. Mom went for lunch with VnBrandeis.

Make up for lack of sleep by napping 2h30 in the afternoon with mommy's boob

Went to bed aerly

Past week: can get back to sitting position while standinf so less likely to fall

Past month: less chewing on toys so doesn't need to wash so often. Mostly like to eat paper and other dirty stuff

Pays attention to small details and thinfs that are not toys

Two lower teeth, 2 front upper tooth, 3 more upper teeth coming out. 6 in total. His smile so funny nowadays with the teeth

Single mind

Switch frim one thing to another in a second. So have to try to distract him

3/3/2016: crib training day 2

Still nursed throughout the night. Mom will have to read the sleep training book and spend this month on improving Boom's sleep.

Stayed awake for 6 hours this morning. Resisted putting down the crib, he can feel even when being near the crib and would wake up right away or cry loudly to protest. Had to repeat the cycle many times.

Finally can put down but only for 30' before having to bring him to bed to nurse.

Took another nap in the evening. Cried and nursed to sleep at 9:30.

2/3/2016s crib training day 1

Today mom went to a wedding. Ms Tuong tried to put down in the crib after he fell asleep but keep waking up. Only finally went to sleep at 1pm (4.5 hours Wake). Had to train him so he can go to daycare.

 

Keep fighting sleep.

Took 1h20 evening nap, skipped dinner.

Almost went to bed early at 9 but woke up and played again. Looked to victorious each time he rose up. Mặt vênh lên cười đắc chí. 

Drop things for fun. Look at the floor, even tranh when mommy husng

Calculated move m when trying to get thinfs

Rolls around and sit up, lăn lộn ngái ngủ after getting up

Does not like daddy hug and kiss anymore

Sometimes phon chi can play and laugh by himself

Once he gets on the bed, cannot move to crib. Comfort nursing all the time

1/3/2016: Boom the explorer

Stayed home with Ms Tuong while mom went to visit Koolkidz and Buy baby proof items from Uma and had wuick lunch outside. 

Mom tired because had no nap today. Had to order diapers because already ranout. 

Pooped seeds of thanh long and whole pieces of mushroom

Went to bed at 10 which is a big improvement

Boom can sit back down after standing up

Loves to play with Roomba but scared when it starts moving

Make calculations in his head on how to reach his target ie from piano to water plant

Explores and examines everythinf: knock to hear sound, roll candles...

Gets crossed when he doesn't get what he wants
